2020 and 2021 have been challenging years for just about everyone. For us, one of the hardest things about the last 18 months has been not being able to see our customers face-to-face to learn about their challenges and help them develop innovative solutions.
Luckily, we have recently been able to exhibit a bit more lately as Covid restrictions have been loosened in some areas. In fact, we recently attended two events – the Foam Expo in Michigan in June, and Techtextil in Raleigh, NC in late August.
While at these trade shows we got to do what we love best: talk to our customers. And with this experience, we were able to identify some of the latest trends going on in our industry this year.
Some of the highlights included:
- Flock and NVH
If you are a car enthusiast or just read a car review lately, you’ve probably run across the acronym NVH, which stands for Noise, Vibration and Harshness. Latest trends are in line with Spectro Coating’s work with using flock to solve standard automotive design issues.
- Need for Innovation in window sealing products
Weatherstripping in your car gets a lot of wear and tear with constant opening and closing of your car doors and windows. One of this years’ trends is using laminated flock heat seals to the extruded window sealing systems.
- Using Flock for Dunnage/Packaging
Move over packing peanuts and kraft paper – Flock is the new gold standard for dunnage. With soft, durable, non scratch surfaces, Flock guarantees that what you’re shipping will arrive safe and sound.
- Flock use with Thermoform and Vacuum formable packaging.
Delicate items like cosmetics, liquor bottles and electronics get extra protection during shipment with the use of Flock in conjunction with customized Thermoform or vacuum formable packaging. With its durable surface, Flock helps keep anything fragile from breaking in the shipping process.
- Need for new domestic suppliers and partners.
Covid-19 has changed the face of just about every industry, but it has especially shone a light on the existing vulnerabilities in supply chain management. Lockdowns and staff shortages have slowed down or completely stopped the flow of raw materials and finished goods alike, creating a chain reaction that extends to manufacturing and distribution.
It’s never been more critical to find reliable, cost-effective domestic suppliers like Spectro Coatings. U.S.-based and an ISO Certified partner, Spectro Coatings can help you by being locally made which means short lead times and reduced shopping costs.
