Fibers are used in materials to provide strength, durability, decorative and other functionality. We manufacture short cut fibers designed to blend easily into the material when compounded.
In adhesives and sealants short cut fibers are added to provide flexibility, strength, and anti-cracking properties to compounds. Flock fibers also provide reinforcement and resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and extreme temperatures in multiple environments to be used in applications involving waterproofing.
Short cut fibers are often used in compounds like tile mortar to allow for controlled drying and limit settling of the compound for laying tile. The fiber can also help reinforce over cracks allowing the material to bridge over the imperfections. This allows contractors more time to lay the tile to create a more even or level surface which will not settle and have many variations.
Fibers are also used for decorative purposes. We can color match and provide fibers that can be blended to give an aesthetic and functional property.
In all these applications fibers can be added without adding high costs, weight, and in many cases, can come from natural, renewable, or biodegradable resources.
We custom cut nylon, polyester, viscose, cotton, acrylic and other performance fibers from .5 mm and up. We can add finishes for dispersion, electrical charge, or other characteristics. Our dyes house allows us to dye most fibers in the color you require.
